My favorite part of traveling is stimulating your senses out of their regular routine. In particular tasting the flavors of a new place whether that be in the local foods or the area's beverages like a neighborhood microbrew or a region's wines. I've traveled to Napa and Sonoma Valley to taste their wines. I just returned from a trip to Tuscany (yes, a blog is coming) to sip on fine Italian vino. But there are so many wine regions, varieties and vintages I have yet to sample. But don't worry, if you can't catch a plane to zip around to every wine region, you're in luck! The second annual Amelia Island Wine Festival will be held October 12, 2013 at The Shops of Amelia Island Plantation from 11am to 5pm!
With a new location at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation, the Amelia Island Wine Festival will feature dozens of award-winning wines from the premier growing regions of Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. You can learn about the wines and wineries from wine industry representatives, sample some of the wines of returning Florida wineries, and purchase a bottle or case to prolong the pleasure long after you return home.
