Touching Clouds on Aerial Tour of Amelia Island

I have been best friends with the same girl since high school. Her name is Amy Surber. She has always been a daredevil and I have not. Whether it is skydiving, bungee jumping or trapeze school, she is always trying to talk me into something adventurous! She caught me off guard recently and I agreed to go power hang gliding with her. I suppose what really sold me was that it was an aerial tour of Amelia Island. Not only do I love Amelia Island, I work at Omni Amelia Island Plantation. We are just completing an $85 million Re-Imagination and I wanted to see all of the renovations from the air. Albeit, I’d prefer to have gone in an aircraft that had sides!

Festivals of Speed Amelia Island
Motorsports Collection & Luxury Lifestyle Event

It's that time of year again when the traffic slows down on Amelia Island.  Locals or regular Amelia Island visitors know it well.  Each March, a selection of antique, collector and specialty cars descend upon on our coastal island for the annual Gooding & Company Car Auction and the Concours D' Elegance causing the traffic to slow down to both enjoy the sights of the passing vehicles but also to accommodate the antique cars that don't go much faster than 20 miles per hour! To add to the car excitement this year, we are hosting the new inaugural Festivals of Speed Amelia Island at Omni Amelia Island Plantation!

Verandah Restaurant Reopens
Serving a Southern Twist on
an Amelia Island Seafood Restaurant

Southern.  Seafood.  Traditional.  Unexpected.  Sustainable.   The new and Re-Imagined Verandah restaurant at Omni Amelia Island Plantation has reopened and is serving up a fresh new twist for an Amelia Island seafood restaurant! The Verandah restaurant has been a long revered favorite for Amelia Island locals and guests alike for many years.  The Amelia Island seafood restaurant closed this past December to undergo its own Re-Imagination with a facelift of the interior design and a new spin on its food.  The Verandah serves a southern inspired menu, specializing in fresh traditional seafood and ingredients sourced from our neighboring waters, local farms and sustainable fisheries across the country.
