Shop Local at Amelia Farmers Market, Prepare “At Home” in The Villas of Amelia Island Plantation
Everyone has memories in the kitchen, it’s the natural gathering place for friends and families. Whether standing around the kitchen while someone prepares a meal, sitting at the breakfast bar talking, sharing stories at the dining table or quietly enjoying company while you clean up…the kitchen is the heart of a home. Staying at The Villas of Amelia Island Plantation allows families and friends to enjoy home-like accommodations on your beach vacation with a kitchen to gather in to create new memories. To top things off, when staying at The Villas of Amelia Island Plantation, you can easily find everything you need to prepare a home cooked meal at the Amelia Farmers Market or the gourmet market Marché Burette and then cook in the comfort of your own kitchen in your home-away-from-home.
I wander out of my villa on a Saturday morning to enjoy a cup of Peet’s Coffee while I browse the original Amelia Island farmer’s market at The Shop of Amelia Island Plantation. One of my favorite things to shop for is the home-made bread and pastries. Whether I enjoy French toast at breakfast or as an addition to a meal, there is nothing like warm, home-made bread. Selecting fresh, seasonal produce among the weekly vendors like organic greens from Rosie’s Organic Farm for a salad and dressings from Minorcan Datil Pepper, means I can shop right here on property and then prepare a fresh meal at my villa that night. And for entertaining, I can easily stop into Marché Burette where they have a fine selection of wine, beer and market goods to complete my meal. It’s so convenient having the gourmet shop and fresh farmer’s market at Amelia Island Plantation, I realize how blessed I am to have such a luxury! Guests and residents of Amelia Island Plantation take advantage of this great opportunity to shop fresh and local, prepare a home cooked meal together, and create new memories in their own kitchen.
