Georgia Florida football gameBeing a northern girl by birth, I had never heard of the Georgia/Florida football Weekend!  Since I am a Hokie fan, even after I moved to Jacksonville, it was never something I had any interest in attending.  Well, last year I started dating a Georgia Bulldog fan and ended up at the game.  I had no idea what I was getting myself into with the crazy amount of people that come into Jacksonville to support their team.  I went to a large college full of football fans but I have to say that this game tops any I have ever attended.  It was a sea of tailgaters surrounding the stadium.  I have never seen so many tents, campers, trucks, games, grills or port-a-potties!  The adventure that enfolded through out the day was insanely fun!  I couldn’t help but get swept away in the energy and found myself cheering with the crowd.  It was an entertaining game to watch as the two teams battled for bragging rights not only for themselves but their loyal fans as well.  Last year it was a victory for the Bulldogs, which I am told is a rarity among the years of this tradition, so it will be fun to see who will win this year’s game.  If your planning on attending the game or prefer a local bar for your cheering, you should definitely check out all the specials going on here at Omni Amelia Island Plantation!

Although this year I will not be able to attend, I will still be sporting my black and red for the Bulldogs at the Amelia Island Plantation Real Estate office so stop in and say hello….or just let me know the score!
